Nursery Progress....

Two big checks in boxes this week!!!!

Nursery furniture has been painted and delivered and we painted the nursery!

I always have a difficult time picking paint colors.  Will it be darker when it is dry? Will it look good when the whole room is that color?  Does it match the fabric? Will it coordinate with the furniture? AHHH!!!

As you can see, we did a few testers before taking the leap of faith on the color!  We decided on the very bottom color block which was 50% of Softer Tan by Sherwin Williams.

The furniture was redone by a very talented lady who has redone furniture for many friends of mine. She does a wonderful job. I'm so pleased with the way the furniture turned out.  It definitely has the Restoration Hardware look that I was going for.  The pictures definitely do not do it justice.

Here is a picture of the fabric up against the furniture!  I think it all will work so well together and I love the pop of subtle blue.

So...not sure if everyone remembers me mentioned the LONG list of projects that I have in mind before the baby arrives.  Here is the before picture of the projects and hopefully I will be able to show a "FINISHED" picture before October 22nd!!

Couldn't resist doing some before and after pictures:

Nursery Update

I made a decision at the beginning of my pregnancy that I was not going to be an anxious wreck about getting the nursery done and I feel that I have a pretty much stuck to that promise...

The nursery is coming along...slowly, but surely.  We pretty much have a blank slate at the moment, but there are many wheels in motion at the moment and things will be coming together quickly in the next few weeks.

Here is the nursery as the former guest room. This poor room pretty much got neglected when we moved in. I never really loved the wall color and never had curtains.  I guess it was a sign that this room was meant to be the nursery.

The pieces of furniture below are being painted to be a cream/tan color with a little bit of brown stain rubbed on top.  Can't wait to see the finished product!

Blank Slate:

Here is the color scheme for the nursery:

Underneath is the rug.  It is a yummy mocha color.
Top left is the fabric for the bumper and crib skirt.  It is a tan with mocha color polka dots.
Center is the accent color which will be the piping on the bumper and the ties.
Bottom is "burlap" for the comfy glider.
Far right is the curtain fabric. It is a very subtle blueish teal color with specs for mocha in it.

I currently have a list of 10 projects that I'm either working on or am about to start working on for the nursery. Wish me luck! I will update you as things get finished.

Spring has Sprung and Baby Hunter will be here soon!!!!!

The beginning of 2012 seems like a huge blur...SO FUN...just went by so fast.

Next thing I know, the pollen is here and it's Spring time!  I made this colorful quilt for a co-workers granddaughter. I just love the colors and how cheerful they are.

Hunter Tutterrow is 10 weeks away from making his big debut!!!  I cannot wait to snuggle that little guy and tell him stories about his Mom (only good ones, Sam, I promise!).

I think my first attempt at crib bedding was a success!  Here is Hunter's crib bedding in his CUTE nursery!

My friend Kelly and I took a "home dec techniques" sewing class a couple of weeks ago and learned so many techniques for home projects included techniques on how to make pillows which was perfect timing for the many pillows that I wanted to make for Christmas gifts.  I have had all the materials for months - zippers, fabric and pillow forms (which took up my whole sewing closet)!

As usual, I procrastinated and waited until the week of Christmas to start the pillows, but I did it...

13 pillows in 1 week! PHEW!
(3 pillows are not shown because they were already delivered)

I must say that these pillows were so fun to make and fueled so many more creative ideas for different styles of pillows, etc. I can't wait to make more!

I also made these cute matching outfits for 2 cousins.
I really loved this traditional plaid that I had to HUNT for.
